We hope everyone had a Merry Christmas and enjoyed the time off, we are so pleased that people were able to catch up for Christmas and other things over the holidays this year! It has been another interesting year for most people trying to deal with what seemed to be a repeat year with lockdowns and border closures; for our business it has been the busiest we have been since opening in 2006 – a direct reflection of the market at the moment. A few things have changed over the twelve months, Catherine Beecroft has officially become a partner – and she has embraced her new role and is doing fantastic things; we have finalised our re-brand (and we’re about to launch our new website), we have updated our office, dealt with an office flood, we have had one staff member move on, we have added three wonderful staff members and are now running a strong team of fifteen. We have navigated all complications with Coronavirus and made some really careful, structural decisions within the business to help it flourish including a much stronger focus on digital marketing and social media. Welcome to Shane Henderson in sales, Darcie Fry in property management, Kayla Rayner – property management and accounts; they have been doing some great work and have settled in perfectly. We are losing two of our favourites early this year in Casey Johannessen, Casey is relocating and we all wish her the very best. Renae who has managed our accounts for a number of years is also making a move an open-ended travelling trip with her family in 2022. Median price in Greater Bendigo has risen 23% with some exceptional increases in Junortoun (34%), Maiden Gully at almost 26% and land in Strathfieldsaye at 31%. Our sales for the year were 202 properties with a value in excess of $102,000,000. Our property team let 112 homes from 4,778 enquiries and 3075 applications; our average rent is now $394pw. This year looks like the trends will continue with solid enquiry continuing in both sales and property management through December, we believe interest rates will remain low for the time being which will keep the real estate market buoyant right through 2022.
